Kuwait's
constitution forbids offensive wars, but describes
the defense of the homeland and the preservation of
its independence and sovereignty as a "sacred
duty". The Kuwaiti Land Forces are composed with
a total of active manpower of 15,000 personnel and
a Reserve force of 24,000 soldiers. There is also
a Para-military force with the National Guard.
The Land Forces of Kuwaiti Army are composed with
around 12,000 soldiers with the structure:
- 1 armoured division with 2 armoured brigades, 1
mechanised brigade, and 1 artillery brigade
- 1 mechanised HQ division with 2 mechanised brigades,
1 armoured brigade, and 1 artillery brigade
- 1 Independent engineer brigade
- 1 Independent armoured reconnaissance brigade
