Latest Russian airborne reconnaissance control modules to appear at Army 2019


The Airborne Forces will display reconnaissance and control MRU-D and planning MP-D modules for antiaircraft units at Army-2019 forum, the Defense Ministry said.

"The hardware is carried by BTR-MDM Rakushka and can control air defense fire at various levels and thus increase the potential of airborne air defense. In particular, it decreases the mission time. It takes two seconds from the command to target destruction," the Defense Ministry said. Both vehicles operate together.

The latest airborne command vehicles are a part of the single Barnaul-T subsystem. The main mission is to collect and process data for air defense control. They can operate with various units up to a brigade. Barnaul-T comprises reconnaissance and command (MRU) and planning (MP) modules.
