The Kalashnikov Concern provided to the Russian Defense Ministry a batch of new light RPK-16 machineguns for test operation by the troops, the company said. "The Defense Ministry received in the first quarter of 2018 a batch of new 5.45 mm light RPK machineguns for test operations. BMPT-72 (or Terminator-2) tank support fighting vehicles recently delivered to the Russian armed forces will be able to fire 30mm shells with controlled airburst, the press office of Russia’s Tecmash Group told TASS. The development of a system with munitions of this type is at the final stage, the press office added. The Tecmash Group is a subsidiary of Russia’s Rostec state hi-tech corporation.

Israeli company Thermal Beacon Ltd. developed high-end, innovative thermal IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) emitters – the MS OMR II c and MK-IV. The first system is mounted on a fighter’s helmet, marking it, and thus distinguishing it from enemy forces. The second system is installed on buildings, vehicles and sailing vessels, enabling accurate identification by friendly forces. In a recent experiment, the MS OMR II c system identified targets from a distance of 18 km.
