Western Military District Tor-M2 crews hold live-firing drills in south Russia
The air defense missile regiment of the Western Military District’s Kantemirovskaya Armored Division has used the Tor-M2 (NATO reporting name: SA-15 Gauntlet) SAM system to hold the first live-firing exercise at the Kapustin Yar training range in south Russia, the Defense Ministry’s press office said.

"The air defense missile regiment practiced cohesion at the Army Air Defense training center, which culminated in a missile live-firing exercise. During the maneuvers, complex targets were used to simulate the flight of air-launched weapons along trajectories typical for operational tactical planes, cruise missiles, glide bombs and unmanned aerial vehicles of various types," the press office said.

The live-firing exercise involved more than 300 servicemen and about 50 items of military and special hardware. When the live-firing exercise is completed, the servicemen will be carried by train to their permanent base and begin to provide air defense for the Moscow Region.
