Russian Southern special forces district receives Tigr-M vehicle with Arbalet-DM remote turret
The special task force of the Southern Military District was the first one in Russia to receive Tiger-M armored vehicles equipped with the latest remote-controlled Arbalet-DM combat module, spokesman of the district Vadim Astafyev said.

"The remote module Arbalet-DM is mounted on wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, surface warships and stationary facility security points. The module is fully stabilized, can lock on and automatically trace targets allowing the operator to fire both in stationary position and on the move," he said. The Southern Military District was the first to receive the modernized combat vehicles. So far two Tiger-M vehicles were delivered in the first batch.

The Tiger-M with Arbalet-DM combat module was first demonstrated at the Victory Day parade on May 9, 2016. It is armed with 12.7mm Kord machinegun with 150 rounds of ammunition or 7.62mm PKTM machinegun with 250 cartridges. Last week the Southern Military District also received over 50 pieces of new hardware, including BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Ural-43206 trucks and Rys armored vehicles. Since the beginning of the year over 600 pieces of new and modernized hardware have become operational in the district.
