India would have bought $4 billion of military equipment from Russia.
Rosoboronexport’s portfolio of orders for Russian military products in India exceeds US$4 billion. This was announced by Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev during the 17th meeting of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation.

"Today, Rosoboronexport's portfolio of orders under contracts and agreements with India is well over $4 billion. And this is without taking into account the documents being prepared for signing. I’m sure the total value of all contracts signed between Russia and India in the sphere of military-technical cooperation since the beginning of cooperation in 1960 will exceed US$70 billion in the next year or two," said Alexander Mikheev.

As Alexander Mikheev said earlier during the 52nd International Paris Air Show, India and China were the primary markets for Russian military products before 2010. North Africa and the Middle East have become the leading markets for Russian military products over the past two years and are now ahead of India and China. These four regions of the world account for 70% of Russia’s total arms exports.

The 17th meeting of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation was held in Moscow and chaired by the Defense Ministers of the two states, Sergei Shoigu and Arun Jeytli. As it was noted at Rosoboronexport, the standing Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation is an effective mechanism for cooperation between the two countries. Regular discussion of the most important issues on the current agenda here, the high status of the co-chairmen of this commission in the rank of defense ministers testify to the unprecedented level of attention paid by the Russian and Indian leadership to such a sensitive sphere as military-technical cooperation.

According the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIRPRI), since 2010, Russia has delivered 25,000 antitank missiles 9M113 Konkurs/AT-5, 1,100 T-90S main battle tanks, 149 BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle, 5 battery of S-400 air defense missile systems and more.
