"The planned volume will be manufactured in the imminent future and, thus, we will receive six S-400 air defense missile systems this year. We are not planning to slow down next year," Bondarev said.

"We have everything to provide reliable protection for our air space," the commander said.

As Bondarev said, the S-400 air defense missile system features high reliability and perfect capabilities, which has been proved during its smooth operation within Russian military units.

The advanced S-400 Triumf long-range air defense missile system was made operational in 2007. The system is designed to destroy hostile aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, including medium-range targets. The system can be also used to eliminate ground targets.

The S-400 air defense missile system’s range is 400 kilometers (248.5 miles). It can destroy targets at an altitude of up to 30 kilometers (18.6 miles).
