Chinese Defence manufacturer NORINCO unveils new mini MRAP the 8M Joint Tactical Light Vehicle.
The Chinese State Defence Company Norinco has unveiled its new light mine protected vehicle at the latest China International Exhibition on Police Technologies & Equipment Expo (CIEPE) in Beijing, 8M Joint Tactical Light Vehicle. Norinco is known outside of China for its high-tech defense products, some of which are adaptations of Russian equipment.

Norinco produces precision strike systems, amphibious assault weapons and equipment, long-range suppression weapon systems, anti-aircraft & anti-missile systems, information & night vision products, high-effect destruction systems, fuel air bombs, anti-terrorism and anti-riot equipment and small arms.

The Norinco 8M vehicle uses a 4x4 chassis. The vehicle is motorized with a Cummins QSB 5.9 engine coupled to a ZF VG 750 transfer case.

The hull of the Norinco 8M Joint tactical Light Vehicle is protected to provide a protection for the crew against ballistic and blast mines threats. The upper part of the chassis enables the Norinco 8M to withstand the blast of an anti-tank mine (7kg of TNT) at any point beneath the hull, and an anti-tank mine (10kg of TNT) under any wheel.

The Norinco 8M is accommodate to carry 8 soldiers.

The Norinco 8M is expected to be marketed locally in China but also for export markets.
