Turkish company Katmerciler to supply Hizir armored vehicles to undisclosed African country


Turkish armoured vehicle manufacturer Katmerciler has received a USD20.7 million order from an undisclosed African country. This is Katmerciler’s first export order for the Hizir 4x4 armored vehicle, which will be delivered between 2019 and 2020.

Katmerciler acting CEO Furkan Katmerci said that Katmerciler plans to export the Hizir to other countries as well. “As a company that has exported to nearly 60 countries and always attached great importance to exports, we are determined to introduce the Katmerciler brand further in the world defense industry with the contribution of Hizir.”

The Hizir vehicle recently entered service with the Turkish army. It has been designed and optimized for high performance under extreme operational conditions in rural and urban areas for 9 personnel. The V-shaped hull and armor offer a high level of ballistic and mine protection. The vehicle was unveiled during High Tech Port in November 2016.

Variants: the Katmerciler Hizir can be manufactured in various configurations such as combat, command and control, CBRN, weapon carrier (it can be fitted with an Aselsan SARP turret with machineguns or an automatic grenade launcher.), ambulance, border security, reconnaissance, etc... It is powered by a Cummins six-cylinder diesel developing 400p, giving a top speed of 110 km/h and a range of 700 kilometers.
