The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to TECRO for the Stinger missiles and related equipment and support for an estimated cost of $223.56 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale.

The Chinese Optics Company acquired a batch of night vision monoculars PN21K from a major Russian designer of sights and monitoring devices, the Novosibirsk instrument-manufacturing plant (NPZ) of Shvabe. The devices are used for covert monitoring of movements, map reading and other tasks, Rostec said.

The missile is in the final stages of being inducted into the army. This new weaponry will be mounted on armored vehicles. The Army and DRDO are supposed to carry out more tests of the missiles on Monday, July 8, also to further validate the missile's capabilities.

The U.S. Army is now standing up short-range air defense units, known as SHORAD battalions, and offering a five-week pilot Stinger course for soldiers in maneuver units. It's part of a critical effort to defend maneuver units against the threat of aircraft, drones and cruise missiles, said Col. Mark A.
