New armored vehicles in service with Tunisian army presented during military parade in June 2017
During the military parade for the 61st anniversary of the Tunisian National Army that was held June 30, 2017, armed forces of Tunisia presented latest acquisition of combat equipment and armored vehicles including the Bastion, Ejder 4x4 armoured vehicles and Kirpi and Typhoon MRAP vehicles.

According the SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute ) Arms Transfers Database, Turkey has delivered 100 Kirpi 4x4 MRAP vehicles to Tunisia from 2014 to 2016. The Kirpi is a wheeled armoured vehicle in the category of MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected). This vehicle is manufactured by the Turkish Company BMC.
 
 

According a video released on Internet showing the Kirpi of Tunisian armed during a military parade of June 2017, the vehicle is in service with the Tunisian armed forces in different configurations including battlefield surveillance and armoured personnel carrier vehicles.

The Kirpi MRAP vehicle was unveiled during the French International Defense Exhibition Eurosatory in June 2010. The vehicle is based on the BMC military truck chassis 235-16P.

In APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) configuration, the KIRPI of Tunisian army is fitted with a remotely operated weapon station armed with a 12.7mm machine gun. For the Kirpi battlefield surveillance version, the vehicle is fitted with a open top turret armed with a 7.62mm machine, one telescopic mast with observation devices is mounted at the rear of the hull.

The Ejder is also a Turkish-made 4x4 armored vehicle manufactured by the Company Nurol Makina. The vehicle was unveiled in May 2013 at IDEF Turkish Defense exhibition. Mass production of the vehicle began in May 2014.
 
 

The Ejder is 4x4 armored personnel carrier using V-shaped hull design, integrating floating floor plates and blast mitigation seating offering high level of protection against mine and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast. The Ejder of Turkish army is fitted with one open turret with armour plates on 360°, armed with one 12.7mm heavy machine gun.

The Ejder layout is conventional for a wheeled APC with the engine at the front, driver and commander in the middle and troops compartment at the rear. The vehicle is able to carried a total of 11 military personnel.

The Bastion is a 4x4 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) designed and developed by ACMAT Defense a subsidiary of the French Company Renault Trucks Defense. The Bastion vehicles for Tunisia by the American Company MACK, responsible for the of Mack Trucks, Renault Truck Defense, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Construction Equipment to all Federal/Ministerial level customers globally.
 
 

The Bastion APC was unveiled at Eurosatory 2010 by the French Defense Company ACMAT, to provide a new generation of light wheeled armoured vehicle personnel carrier. It is based on the rugged chassis of the VLRA TDN-TDE series to provide a capable and reliable multirole platform.

The Bastion APC of Tunisian army is fitted with one-man open turret mounted at the front of top hull armed with a 12.7mm machine gun. The vehicle can carry a total of 10 military personnel including driver and commander. According to the United States Department of Defense, Tunisia has received 4 vehicles Bastion.

In August 2016, the National Guard of Tunisia has received Typhoon 4x4 mine resistant ambush protected vehicles (MRAP) from the armored manufacturer STREIT Group with headquarter in United Arab Emirates.
 
 

The Typhoon 4×4 is an armoured in the category of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle which is used mainly as APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier). It features a V-shaped monocoque armored hull design that offers advanced protection against blast explosion.

The Typhoon MRAP can accommodate a driver, a commander and up to eight troops.
