The first batch of advanced REM-KL recovery vehicles based on the Ural-532362 chassis has been delivered to an Eastern Military District logistic support large unit stationed in the Amur Region in Russia’s Far East, the district’s press office said.

The vehicle is designed to repair and evacuate military hardware, including on the battlefield, the press office added. The vehicle features an articulated crane with a lifting capacity of 2.83 tons and a power generator to carry out wielding works.

"The REM-KL recovery vehicle based on the wheeled Ural-532362 chassis has a cab-over-engine design. It has an 8x8 chassis, which allows operating it on all types of roads in the Far East," the press office said. "The REM-KL can conduct spec lift recovery or tow wheeled vehicles at a maximum speed of 30 km/h [19 mph] on unpaved roads and at a speed of 50 km/h [31 mph] on paved roads," the press office added.

Compared to its predecessors, the REM-KL recovery vehicle has a high cross-country capability and higher-power standardized equipment to repair and evacuate broken vehicles in harsh field conditions.
