North Korea pledged Thursday to continue test-firing tactical guided missiles. Pyongyang test-fired two projectiles in the sea off its east coast Wednesday, one day before Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Seoul for summit talks with South Korean President Park Geun-hye. The North also fired what appeared to be two Scud-class missiles on Sunday, and three short-range rockets KN-09 on June 26.

U.S. military personnel in Iraq provides security assistance and advisory team to Iraqi Army
 
U.S. military personnel who have been sent to Iraq in recent weeks are performing two distinct mission sets, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said today. Kirby said during a Pentagon news briefing that military orders since June 16 now total 770 authorized personnel, with 650 now in the country.

An analysis of Colonel Yuri Mykolenko, member of the Command Center of Ukrainian armed forces, has confirmed the use of armament and combat vehicles from the Russian federation origin.

Poland has short-listed a consortium of France's Thales and European group MBDA, as well as U.S. firm Raytheon, in its tender for a mid-range missile defence system, the defence ministry said on Monday, June 30, 2014. The bids that lost out on the tender, which is estimated to be worth about $5 billion, were from the Israeli government and the MEADS consortium led by Lockheed Martin.
