Serbian Armed Forces have received 20 medical utility vehicles from the Republic of China.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic attended the handover of 20 medical utility vehicles that were donated by the People's Republic of China to the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
     

20 medical utility vehicles were donated by the People's Republic of China to the Serbian Ministry of Defence.

     

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, Assistant Minister for Defence Miroslav Jovanovic, Head of General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of Logistics Department Major General Danko Jovanovic and representatives of military medical institutions.

The agreement on takeover was signed by the defense attaché of the People's Republic of China Senior Colonel Li Yun and Chief of the Military Health Department, Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General prof. Zoran Popovic.

Minister Vucic thanked China on behalf of the Government of Serbia, for 2 million USD donation, or 15 million in yuans. This is the state of the art equipment with FIAT engines.

- We hope that the relations between Serbia and China in all fields of social life will be even better. I expect that in the near future we will have visits at the highest level, because we want a stronger China to be even more present in our country. Also, we are grateful for their political support, and they will always have a reliable ally in Serbia- said the defense minister, adding that today's donation consists of the most modern equipped vehicles which will be deployed in our military medical institutions throughout Serbia.

     
     
Adviser for Political Affairs and representative of the ambassador the People's Republic of China in his Excellency’s absence Hua Yafang commended the relations between the two countries stressing that this is just another result of good cooperation, which will be further developed.

General Popovic said that today is an exceptional day for the Army of Serbia, particularly for its health sector.

- We are continuing cooperation in the area of military health with colleagues from China in order to work together to advance knowledge in the field of research, education and treatment of our patients. We shall allocate 12 vehicles to primary health care centers in garrisons throughout Serbia as brigade support. The remaining medical ATVs will be given to the Military Medical Academy, the Military Hospital in Nis and Novi Sad and the Center for Belgrade Military Medical Institutions.

The handover of the vehicles was performed within Military Medical Center at Karaburma.
