NORINCO of China invites Peruvian military delegation to present latest generation of MLRS vehicles.
The Chinese Defense Company NORINCO promotes its range of MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) to meet the tender of Peruvian Army to replace the old Russian-made rocket launcher system BM-21.
     
     

In response to the request of the Peruvian government for the replacement of its rocket launcher BM-21, and assess opportunities available on the defense market, the Chinese government sent an invitation to Peru to visit the production facilities of the Chinese company Norinco.

During the visit of the Peruvian military delegation to China, the company Norinco has presented two systems of multiple rocket launchers, the Type 90B of 122 mm caliber and the AR-3 of 370mm caliber.

The Type 90B is the second-generation truck-mounted 122mm 40-tube multiple launch rocket system developed by China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO). The Type 90 fires 122mm fin-stabilised free rockets to a minimum range of 10-12 km and a maximum range of 20-40 km depending on the rocket type.

The whole system includes command, reconnaissance and maintenance vehicles. The Type 90B is fitted with computerized fire control with GPS. A typical Type 90B battery is composed of six launcher and six loader vehicles.

The AR3 is a new MRLS Multiple Rocket Launcher System presented for the first time during the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2011. The AR3 370mm Multiple Launcher Rocket System (MLRS) is a long range suppressing weapon system developed and manufactured by NORINCO.

The AR3 is equipped at the rear of the chassis with two pods each of four 370 mm rockets.

The weapon system adopts an integralized platform, container-launcher box, and integrated missile launch control system etc.

The AR3 is able to fire 370mm caliber rockets at a maximum range of 220 km or 300mm rockets at a maximum range of 130 km.
