Eastern Military District of Russian army received new air defence missile systems TOR-M2U.
As part of the Russian state defense order, the Air Defense Division of the Russian Army Eastern Military District will be equipped for the end of 2012 with new anti-aircraft air defense missile systems, "Tor-M2U". This will complete the air defense systems which are currently in service in the Eastern Military district.

The officers of these units are currently in training at the training center for air defense forces in the Krasnodar region, where he will learn the technology of this new type of weapon and its use.

The training also includes a specific course for the fire control of Tor-M2U which takes place in the training center of Eastern Military District of anti-aircraft forces in the Astrakhan region.

Tor-M2U is designed to deter air attacks, including those of high-precision weapons. It carries twelve guided missiles capable of intercepting targets, which fly at up to 700 meters per second on the range of up to twelve kilometers and the altitude of up to 6,000 meters. The system is capable of detecting and identifying of up to 48 targets and simultaneous locking of four targets.
