According to Alexandre Talanov, managing director of the RusBal company which produces these inflatable counterparts, this material is able to emit radio, thermal and infra-red waves identical to those produced by the current material. Thanks to that, these lures appear true on the instruments of the enemy. These models are rather easy to produce and the price of one of these inflatable copies reaches only 1 or 2% of the price of a real weapon.

The air defence inflatable system development will be completed for the beginning of 2012. The Russian Army will buy 100 units of the inflatable material per year. According to the Russian ministry of Defense, the armed forces will be equipped with 800 of these inflatable systems.

The representatives of the Russian company RusBal also point out that other countries already placed several orders of models.

However, according to certain military experts, the development program of the inflatable weapons is not justified, because the modern means of detection can easily distinguish real metal and the components which will be used for the inflatable systems.
