Turkish army has tested Katmerciler Hizir 4x4 armoured vehicle


According a Turkish media news of January 24, 2018, Turkish army has successfully performed ballistic and mine tests with the local-made Hizir 4x4 armoured vehicle personnel carrier. The new wheeled combat vehicle could be used to fight terrorist organization.

The Hizir 4x4 armoured vehicle was designed and developed by the Turkish Company Katmerciler offering high level of protection and mobility. The vehicle was unveiled during the defense exhibition High Tech Port in November 2016 that was held in Turkey.

The Katmercielr HIZIR, 4x4 tactical wheeled armoured vehicle is available in different types of configurations such as combat vehicle, command control vehicle, CBRN vehicle, weapon carrier (easy integration of various weapon systems), ambulance vehicle, border security vehicle, reconnaissance vehicle.

The APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) version is fitted with a remotely operated weapon station mounted on the front roof of the crew compartment which can be armed with 12.7mm machine gun, 40mm automatic grenade launcher or 7.62mm machine gun.

The Katmerciler HIZIR can carry a total of 9 military personnel including the driver and commander at the front and 7 infantrymen at the rear on individual seats.

The Katmerciler HIZIR is powered by a Cummins ISL turbocharged 6 cylinder intercooled 8.9 liters diesel engine developing 400 hp (298 KW) at 2100 rpm. It has a maximum road speed of 110 km/h and a maximum cruising range of 700 km.
