“Every country has the right to buy weapons in line with its assessments and objectives. And we are also doing this,” Dikovic said in an interview to RTS.

Due to a rather restrictive budget, the modernization of the existing armaments and purchase from domestic companies will constitute a priority, the general said, adding that this would be followed by orders on the world market. Two multipurpose helicopters are due to be delivered in the first half of 2016, Dikovic said.

The NORA B-52 self-propelled gun-howitzer was developed by the Serbian Defence Company Yugoimport to replace older artillery equipment in service with Serbian Army.

The Lazar 2 is a multi-purpose 8x8 armoured vehicle in the category of MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected). This vehicle is also designed and manufactured by YugoImport.
