Philippine Army has taken delivery of 219 new South Korean-made Kia KM450 light military trucks.
The Philippine Army (PA) armed forces have taken delivery of 219 new Kia KM450 military trucks late December 2015. This was announced by PA spokesperson Col. Benjamin Hao in an interview Thursday, January 7, 2016.

The 219 KM450s are part of an initial 327 vehicle delivery made by KIA, he added. Of these, 219 are earmarked for the Army while the remaining 108 will be divided between the Air Force, Navy and Marines.
 

These vehicles are now undergoing technical inspection and assessment before being handed over to their mother units.

Hao said another 390 KM450s are scheduled to arrive before the end of January.

The South Korean Kia KM450 is 1-1/4-ton cargo light military truck which was developed in Korea for the transportation of cargo and soldiers. It has been renovated with new functions that include a high horsepower engine and power train, and a new ergonomic design that allows for the convenience and safety of the operation of devices and instruments.

The Kia KM450 can run at a maximum road speed of 104 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km. It can carry a total of 12 military personnel and has a maximum loading weight of 2,500 kg with a total gross weight of 5,650 kg.
