The Vostok-D truck-mounted 2D surveillance radar enters in service with the Belarus Army.
The Belarusian army has commissioned a new domestically developed long-range radar as it phases out Soviet-era equipment, said Friday, January 11, 2014, the country’s defense ministry.

“The Belarusian-made Vostok-D radar has been put on combat duty in electronic warfare units,” the ministry’s spokesman said.

The Vostok-D is a truck-mounted 2D surveillance radar that operates in the VHF band.

It has an effective range of 360 kilometers (224 miles) and boasts high target-detection capability, including against low-flying aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Developed by Agat/KB Radar in Belarus, the Vostok-D radar is an intended replacement for the P-18 Spoon Rest series. It is a digital solid state design, operating in the VHF band.

The fully automated digital data processing subsystem provides a range of automatic tracking modes, and is designed to interface to cable or RF datalink channels to other IADS elements. No less than 120 aerial targets can be tracked.
