SpetsTechnoExport of Ukraine awarded contract to supply 5 BTR-4 8x8 armoured to Indonesia.
The Ukrainian State Foreign Trade Enterprise “SpetsTechnoExport", a division of the Ukrainian Defense Industry has won a tender from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to supply five BTR-4 8x8 armoured vehicles personnel carrier for the Marine Corps of the Indonesian Navy.
     
     

In August 2013, a military delegation from the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia was in Ukraine to get technical information about the BTR-4 and to see a live demonstration about the capabilities of the vehicle.

BTR-4 armoured personnel carrier is an 8x8 amphibious armoured vehicle intended to transport personnel of mechanized infantry units and to provide fire support for these units in combat operations. The BTR-4 is intended to equip mechanized infantry units that can fulfill operations under various combat conditions, including NBC environment.

The Ukrainian Company SpetsTechnoExport has not given any details about the type of weapons that could be equipped the BTR-4 for Indonesia.

The BTR-4 can be equipped with the GROM, Shkval or BAU 23x4 weapon stations.

GROM includes a 30mm gun with 360 rounds, a 30mm grenade launcher with 150 rounds, a 7.62mm machine gun with 1,200 rounds and four Konkurs or Baryer anti-tank missiles.

Shkval module consists of a 30mm gun with 360 rounds, 30mm grenade launcher with 150 rounds, a 7.62mm machine gun with 2,000 rounds and two Konkurs or Baryer anti-tank missiles.

The BAU 23x2 includes two 23mm automatic guns with 400 rounds and one 7.62mm machine gun with 2,000 rounds.
