There is no foreign equivalent of the “Infauna”. This vehicle uses unique technology features which can significantly improve the protection of troops, armored vehicles, combat personnel against land mines and improvised explosive devices, and to provide enemy communications jamming. The “Infauna” is based on the wheeled armoured vehicle personnel carrier BTR-70.

With this new vehicle, the Russian armed forces are now equipped with one of the most modern equipment and technology for electronic warfare.

Navy and Army continue to improve the training of electronic warfare troops. During 2011 in specific training centre, the Russian electronic warfare units were prepared and trained to operate the new reconnaissance and jamming complex “Infauna”, with the goal to improve the skills of soldiers.
