Russia allocates $160 million fo development of three types of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles UAV
 

Russian Helicopters has received 5 billion rubles ($160 mln) from the federal budget for the development of three types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). After charging that smaller domestic developers wasted public funds - and pointedly purchasing Israeli drones for military trials - the Defense Ministry has switched to a big holding with sufficient capacity to develop and produce indigenous UAVs.

More professional soldiers will take training courses to operate new Yars RS-24 ballistic missile
 

More than 4,000 contracted soldiers will take training courses in 2012 to be able to operate the new Yars (RS-24) ballistic missile systems, a spokesman for Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) said on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. The RS-24 is a new-generation intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying multiple warheads.

Raytheon receives $51 million contract for Patriot air defence missile system upgrades
 

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $51.3 million contract to upgrade Patriot Advanced Capability-2 missiles to the Guidance Enhanced Missile-Tactical (GEM-T) configuration. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Redstone Arsenal, Ala., issued the contract as a follow-on to AMCOM's Patriot missile continuous technology refreshment program initiated in 2000.

Iveco Defence Vehicles has delivered the first units in a contract valued at €125 million with Armasuisse – the Swiss federal competence centre for the procurement of security relevant technologies and equipment.
