Radiobarrier System unveils its new RS-N autonomous perimeter security solution during ISNR
Russian company Radiobarrier presented us its new RS-N sensor which detects foot-borne intruders and/or vehicles based on the seismic signature they produce. The sensor is deployed underground to the depth of 30 to 50 cm. The sensor is powered by 5-year battery and communicates with command and control system wirelessly.

The detection zone is circular (approx 100 meters in radius) and split into 4 equal sections. The sensor displays which of the sections the target is located in. When the target moves from one section of a sensor’s detection zone to another the operator sees an arrow indicating direction of movement.

The directional capability of the sensor provides a great advantage over any other seismic sensor systems, especially in border protection scenarios.

When deployed along the border, the sensors allow the operator to see the direction of border crossing, and avoid nuisance alarms by patrol units that move along the border. The system can be set up to send alarms only when the border is crossed and ignore any other movement detected by the sensors.
