Indian defense industry showcases a wide range of defense and military equipment in the fields of Air, Land and Navy at the International Defense and Security Exhibition ISDEF 2019 that takes place In Tel Aviv, Israel.

Indian companies Bharat Electronics Limited, a PSU under Ministry of Defence, GoI, BEML Limited, GRSE - Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, Goa Shipyard, and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. exhibit at IDEF 2019 under the India National Pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Defence of India.

Since many years India and Israel have increased business collaboration in different areas including the defense sector. Israeli supplied weapons aided India in winning the Kargil War against Pakistan in 1999. Currently, India is the largest arms buyer from Israel.

India is a major market for the Israeli defense industry, IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) collaborates with India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and local industries in India to develop the Barak 8. The Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) of India was introduced in 2005 with the objectives of giving primacy to "Make in India". Under the Make in India initiative, defense organizations of India are set to enhance their manufacturing and development efficiency, thereby contributing to making India self-reliant in defence production.

India–Israel relations refer to the bilateral ties between the Republic of India and the State of Israel. The two countries have an extensive economic, military, and strategic relationship.

India is the largest buyer of Israeli military equipment and Israel is the second-largest defence supplier to India after Russia. From 1999 to 2009, the military business between the two nations was worth around $9 billion. Military and strategic ties between the two nations extend to intelligence sharing on terrorist groups and joint military training.

In May 2019, the Indian Navy has conducted the maiden co-operative engagement test of the medium range surface to air missile (MRSAM), a ship-based version of Israel's Barak 8 missile, which is also a preferred anti-missile defence weapon of the navy.
