IDEX 2017: Leonardo, GAL to jointly support UAE Armed Forces' fleets of AW helicopters
|

EDIC subsidiary Global Aerospace Logistics, LLC (GAL) and AgustaWestland Aviation Services (AWAS), today signed a support services agreement. Agreements with representatives of the Aircraft Manufacturers such as AgustaWestland is the cornerstone of GAL’s support strategy, and strengthen GAL’s capabilities in the United Arab Emirates while also enhancing both companies’ ability to serve the UAE Armed Forces.

GAL is a key supplier of professional aerospace and defense maintenance services and support for the UAE, and the continuation of this agreement with AWAS further enhances its role as a provider of routine and urgent customer support services for the UAE Joint Aviation Command – including new spare parts, repairs, training and technical publications.
“GAL is proud to work with AWAS to support the AW-139 and AW-109 helicopters operating with the UAE Armed Forces support and we are pleased to sign this agreement with Airbus Helicopters”, said Mr. Abdulla Murad Al Balooshi, GAL’s Chief Executive Officer. “GAL believes very strongly that relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers such as AgustaWestland are key to providing the high quality maintenance that our customers require.” Al Balooshi added that the extended relationship ensures GAL and AWAS continue to meet daily operational needs of the UAE Joint Aviation Command, ensuring efficient and effective fleet maintenance of the AW-109 and AW-139 helicopters operated in the United Arab Emirates. In the future GAL looks forward to supporting the AW-609 in the same manner. |
