Every two years, the city of Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates hosts the biggest defense exhibition in the Middle East, IDEX (International Defense Exhibition and Conference), during five days more than 1,200 international exhibitors from the defense and security industries will present their latest innovations and technologies for the military market. NAVDEX is held alongside IDEX, as Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference.

NAVDEX is held alongside IDEX, as Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference. IDEX 2017 International Defence Exhibition and Conference will be held from 19 to 23 February 2017 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
     
Both IDEX 2017 and NAVDEX 2017 will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, between 19 and 23 February, 2017 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This important events will be organised by ADNEC in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.

Following a meeting to launch the next edition of IDEX/NAVDEX, His Excellency Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Khalfan Al Mazrouei said: “IDEX is a leading international defence and security event and one of the largest globally. Since it was launched 23 year ago, it has evolved to become an attractive forum for decision makers and the biggest global companies specialised in this vital sector.”

He added: “Recent international geopolitical changes, especially in the Middle East, pose many security challenges for decision makers. Therefore, the role of IDEX and NAVDEX has become even more significant in providing an interactive platform for discussing and showcasing some of the latest defence and security technologies and solutions.

IDEX 2017 will witness record participation from among the largest international defence and security companies globally in addition to hosting many national entities. He added that NAVDEX 2017, set to be held alongside IDEX, will witness an increase in the number of participating companies as well as in the fleet of naval ships to be displayed at the ADNEC Marina.

As the leading defence and maritime events for in the Middle East, the previous edition of IDEX 2015 attracted over 1,200 local and international defence manufacturers and contractors along with more than 101,000 visitors from across the world. The event also facilitated business deals worth AED18.9 billion in its latest editions, further cementing its status as the most strategically important tri-service defence exhibition in the world.

ADNEC with its Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre offers 133,000 sq m of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.8 million people across 369 events in 2015.
