The thirteenth edition will be held at a time of growing security threats and an increasing willingness of governments to invest in defence technology. This situation is reflected in an increased interest in participation: 331 exhibitors will be presenting on 19 to 21 May at IDET 2015, that is about a tenth more than two years ago.

Together with the concurrently held international fairs, PYROS Fire Technology and Services fair, ISET fair of Security Technology and Services, and INTERPROTEC fair of Personal Protection, Work Safety And Working Environment, there will be a showcase of products and services of 450 exhibiting companies. Thanks to the time connection of the military, security and fire technology fairs, visitors will find an overview of the offer, updated information and new contacts in several related fields all in a single location.

IDET is crucial for the domestic defence and security industry - a traditionally very strong manufacturing industry, which exports about four-fifths it* production, and lately it has been doing well both in countries of Southeast Asia or the Middle East, as well as in the most demanding markets of the US and the EU. As it has been expressed on 11 May at the 19th General Meeting of the Association of Defence and Security Industry (AOBP), according to unofficial reports on military materials trade, 2014 has been the most successful year of our exporters since 1994. Other accomplishments of Czech producers should be boosted by IDET 2015 whose role in export promotion is actively supported by the Ministry of Defence of the CR. The Brno Exhibition Centre is thus once again the destination for a number of experts from abroad, including military and ministerial delegations, representatives of NATO, the NSPA and for the first time also a delegation of the European Defence Agency (EDA).

A dominant space at IDET will again be taken by a joint exhibition of the Czech Army and the Ministry of Defence, located in Hall P and the outdoor area between Halls P and K. It should symbolically represent a military base of a military deployment of the ACR, but for the exhibitors, the extensive exhibition space is an especially important demonstration of plans and projects of the ministry and the Czech government to significantly modernize military equipment. There will also be dedicated exhibitions by the ministries of defence of Poland and Slovakia and also the Associations of Defence and Security Industry in Hungary, Poland, Austria and Lithuania. A stand of the NSPA - the NATO Support Agency will also be present. This year's biggest exhibitors include companies like Excalibur Army, Tatra Export. Britain's BAE Systems International, Omnipol, STV Group, VOP CZ, Ceski zbrojovka, SVOS or the Polish Armaments Group.
