New technology demonstrator MGC-1 vehicle from Excalibur Army a response against new threats.
At the Defence Exhibition in Bratislava, IDEB 2012, The Czech Company Excalibur Army in cooperation with VOP Trencin and EVPU is presenting a technology demonstrator based on the chassis of Russian-made BMP-1 armoured infantry fighting vehicle, the MGC-1.

The presented spectrum of passive, reactive and active technologies of ballistic and mine protection offers to potential customers possibility to choose the appropriate system of the vehicle protection against envisaged threats during specific deployment tasks. The technology demonstrator MGC-1 gives an opportunity to efficiently use the considerable quantity of existing original BMPs and other types of light and medium weight armoured vehicles. The new technology will allow their further use in the full-spectrum operations of the modern armed forces.

The combat vehicles are currently used in operations that are referred as asymmetric warfare or asymmetric operations, in which modern equipped troops are effectively opposed by enemy equipped with weapons of several old generations as RPG-7 from 1962 and frequently using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The displayed technology demonstrator MGC-1 offers several elements and systems increasing the vehicle's ballistic protection against such threats.

     
The MGC-1 at IDEB 2012 is equipped with a remote controlled weapon station TURRA 30 which is designed to be integrated on various types of wheeled or tracked armoured vehicles.
The MGC-1 is equipped with a remote controlled weapon station TURRA 30 armed with 30mm gun, 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and anti-tank missile Konkurs.
     
The MGC-1 at IDEB 2012 is equipped with a remote controlled weapon station TURRA 30 which is designed to be integrated on various types of wheeled or tracked armoured vehicles.

The turret is armed with an automatic 30mm gun, one 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, smoke grenade launcher and two anti-tank launcher missile Konkurs able to be used against armoured vehicles or low-flying targets up to a distance of 2,500m.

Gunner's position allows controlling the gun system and the turret. With a joystick and operator control panel can the gunner control the weapon station and gun system in several modes such as observation, fire, operating parameters setup and diagnostic mode. The operator control panel is adapted to connect fire detection system, laser warning system and self-protection smoke grenade launcher system.
