GIDS Shahpar Unmanned Aerial Vehicle at IDEAS 2014

The Shahpar is a medium range tactical UAV system capable of conducting round the clock surveillance providing its user with imagery that is reliable, real time, accurate and consistent. The aircraft accomodates diverse mission profiles and offers flexible payload configurations, allowing it to serve in similar mission capacities to much more expensive systems. Shahpar adresses immediate and future tactical surveillance requirements of its users with proven performance and multi-mission capability. Other features include accurate lateral, longitudinal trajectory control, missions planing, management and control, geo referencing and geo pointing for terrestrial targets. Its max operating altitude is 5,000m and the system can fly at a 150kph cruise speed, in a data link range of 250km.

GIDS Uqab Unmanned Aerial Vehicle at IDEAS 2014

The Uqab UAV system has been in use with the Pakistan Army since 2007 and the Pakistan Navy since 2011 as a base line surveillance tactical UAV system. It has completed over 500 sorties compiling 1,500 flight hours to date. The basic structural design of Uqab utilizes low cost composite materials significantly contributing to its low maintenance costs. A modular design enables it to be deployed quickly using semi prepared landing strips. Uqab has all the features of a modern tactical UAV including day and night surveillance capabilities, video tracking, target lock on, autonmous mission execution and mission planning facilities. Uqab can fly at max. speed of 150km/h, has a height ceiling of 3,000m and a range of max. 50km.

GIDS Scout Unmanned Aerial Vehicle at IDEAS 2014

The Scout is a mini UAV system which is designed for portability and quick over the hill surveillance missions. It is modular, easy to deploy and can be carried by a single person. Scout is battery powered, capable of complete autonomous flight and carries an electro-optical payload for day and night time surveillance/reconaissance. Scout can fly in autonomous, semi-autonomous and manual modes. GPS based tracking allows waypoint navigation, with over 1,000 waypoints that can be altered during flight and in real time. Scout mini UAV carries either an electro-optical (day) camera, with an optical zoom of up to 26x/10x or infra-red (night) camera depending on the mission requirement. Both camera are mounted on a pan and tilt mechanism. The Scout has a max. range of 10km, can fly at max. speed of 60km/h and has a height ceiling of 1,500ft.

Finally, the Sentry is a man-portable autonomous aerial reconaissance vehicle, specially designed for field soldiers. The system is based on on-man crew. It is a noiseless surveillance system which can remain deep inside ennemy territory for hours completely undetected by radar, IR sensors and human observation. It provides real time information to soldiers and commanders during operation on handheld display units with long endurance batteries. Hours of video can be saved and replayed by the soldiers in the field.
