LIZARD the new light Special Operations vehicle from Uniqueco and Rheinmetall Chempro.

At IAV 2013, the German Company UNIQUECO in collaboration with Rheinmetall Chempro unveils the new light Special Operations vehicle LIZARD based on the civilian platform TECDRAH produced by the German Company Travec Automotive.

The TECDRAH vehicle is based on space frame made of zinc-coated steel and aluminium, covered by plastic moulded components out of ABS/PMMA. Compared to other available vehicles of the same category, the tecdrah impresses with up to 50% savings in total weight.

The standard four wheel-drive of the vehicle with its specially adapted 6-gear transmission box assures the TECDRAH´s safe allterrain-perfomance.

The LIZARD is protected by an armour solution of the German Company Rheinmetall Chempro which provides a ballistic protection from Level 1 up to Level 3 STANAG 4569 and a mine protection from Level 1 up to Level 2.

Rheinmetall Chempro is one of the world's leading producers of passive protection systems for wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles. In recent years, more than 40,000 vehicles have been equipped with sophisticated protection technology from Rheinmetall Chempro. Efficiently structured processes and cutting-edge manufacturing technology enable fast production and customer-specific solutions that can also be integrated in theatre.

With an empty weight of 1,200 kg, the LIZARD has a payload capacity of 1,500 kg. The vehicle can reach a maximul road speed of 158 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,160 km.
