The President of United Arab Emirates
(UAE) is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
All decisions related to organising, equipping and
training the Armed Forces fall under the responsibility
of the Supreme Defense Council. The Council is headed
by the President and also includes the Deputy President,
the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
defense, Finance and Interior, as well as the Deputy
Supreme Commander and the Chief of Staff. The Armed
Forces of United Arab Emirates are composed with around
65, 000 personnel, all volunteers.
The Land Forces of United Arab Emirates are composed
with around 59,000 soldiers with the structure:
- 1 National guard brigade, 3 armoured brigades, 4
mechanised infantry brigades, 1 artillery brigade,
1 air defense brigade, 1 ranger battalion
