Description
The Didgori 1 is a Georgian-made 4x4 armoured personnel carrier family developed by the "Delta" research center of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. The Didgori 1 was unveiled for the first time during a military parade in Tbilisi, May 26, 2011. The Didgori 1 is a multirole armoured vehicle which can be used for a full range of combat missions as intelligence, convoy operations and troop carrier on the battlefield. Due to the light materials used, and despite the high level of the protection, the vehicle can be transported by C-130 or bigger types of the transport aircrafts.
 
Variants:
- Didgori 1 MLRS: one remote weapon station with rocket launch system mounted on the top of the crew compartment.
- Didgori 1 ambulance: the rear part of the vehicle is raised to offer more space to insure transportation of wounded soldiers from the front line of military operations and providing first medical aid during transportation.

Armament
The Didgori 1 can be fitted with an open top turret or a remote weapon station which can be armed with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun. The vehicle is able to be equipped with other weapon systems as 40mm automatic grenade launcher, rocket launch station, ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) or SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) platform.
Design and protection
The layout of the Didgori 1 is conventional with the engine at the front, crew in the middle and troops compartment at the rear. The Didgori 1 is made on steel armour which provides protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. The vehicle uses a monocoque type body structure and optimized angles of armored plates are enabling Didgori 1 to withstand direct hit of 7.62×51 AP (Armour Piercing) rounds which correspond to NATO Stanag 4569 LEVEL 3 protection. The armour of the vehicle uses sandwich construction for the hull. According Delta manufacturer of the Didgori 1, the vehicles is built according to modern standards with superior protection for crew members. All the vital components of the vehicle are highly protected from any type of external threats and despite this are easily accessible for onboard personnel. The Didgori 1 can carry a total of nine soldiers including driver and commander which are seated at the front of the vehicle. One large door is available to either side of the hull. A large door is provided in the rear of the hull which opens to the right and is provided with a bulletproof window and firing port in the upper part. Two small bulletproof windows are mounted to each side of the troops compartment.

Mobility
The Didgori 1 is based on a Ford F550 super heavy duty 4x4 truck chassis , all the mechanical components of Didgori 1 are time proven and easy accessible worldwide. The vehicle is motorized with a FORD turbo charged V8 Diesel engine coupled to an automatic transmission with 6 forward and 1 reverse speeds. The Didgori 1 can run at a maximum road speed of 80 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km. The vehicles can negotiate gradients up to 60%, side slope of 40%, fording depth of 1 m without preparation.
Accessories
Standard equipment of the Didgori 1 includes gun ports, radio mount, self-recovery winch, tools and fire extinguisher system. A camera is mounted at the rear top of the troops compartment. The Didgori 1 is also equipped with run flat tire system allowing the vehicle to cover 50 km with a damaged wheel at 50 km/h. In option the vehicle can be equipped with thermal camera, NBC and fire protection system and central tire inflation system. It can also be equipped with telescopic mast on the back platform of the vehicle with 360° rotatable night vision device with an optical zoom x36.
