The IBERO is a 4x4 armored vehicle fully designed and manufactured by the Spanish company TSD (Technology & Security Development) based on a Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG FGA chassis which is the latest and most high-performance platform for protected command and special-purpose vehicles. The FGA special chassis from Mercedes-Benz provides manufacturers of military and civilian vehicles with a reconfigured platform based on that of the proven UNIMOG concept.

The design of the IBERO is conventional with the engine at the front, crew in the middle, and troops' compartment at the rear. The front of the vehicle is fitted with two large bulletproof windows covered by metal mesh guards. There is a single door on each side at the front of the hull which has also a bulletproof window also protected by a metal mesh guard.

The troop’s compartment at the rear of the vehicle is able to accommodate up to 10 military personnel. Each side of the hull is fitted with three small bulletproof windows and firing ports allowing the use of individual weapons from inside of the vehicle.

The IBERO can be powered by two different engines in 4 or 6-cylinder configuration developing 310 hp maximum. According to the configuration, the vehicle can have a weight between 10 to 14.5 tonnes. In standard configuration, the hull of the vehicle provides a ballistic protection Level 1 STANAG 4569 against the firing of small arms 7.62x39mm (Armor Piercing) and can be upgraded to Level 2 to withstand 7.62mm API (Armor Piercing) ammunition.

The IBERO has a maximum cruising range of 800 km. The vehicle has a gradient of 60% and a 30% side slope. It can also climb over obstacles of more than 50 cm and cross a 0.9 m wide trench. It can also cross a 1.2-meter deep water obstacle.
