In January 2011, the French Army procurement agency (DGA) has awarded a contract to Belgian Company FN Herstal to provide its 7.62×51mm Nato-calibre FN MAG machine gun for its army. At FED 2013, FN Herstal has presented the variant of its FN MAG 7.62mm variant which has entered in service with the French Army.
