Patria, a global market leader in the production of armoured wheeled vehicles, have been selected with their 6x6 platform to be part of a joint programme to develop sustained mobility enhancement for the Finnish and Latvian Armies. Alcon Components Ltd, world-class specialists in brake and clutch systems, is the principal supplier of braking components for Patria’s heavy armoured vehicle range, and specifically the Patria 6x6.

More than 2,500 regular and reserve British soldiers from 7th Infantry Brigade (the Desert Rats) are currently deployed on a six-week training exercise on Salisbury Plain. Exercise Wessex Storm is one of the biggest exercises of its kind in a decade and is designed to test the soldiers on the skills needed to live and fight for long periods of time under harsh conditions. Later this year, the Desert Rats will deploy on operations in Mali, Afghanistan and Poland. This Exercise is a key part of ensuring their readiness for those operations.

All of the strict criteria demanded by the Customer were met, including loitering time, accuracy and radius. This is the first time the new Hero-120 platform has been demonstrated, following its recent public release at the Paris Airshow and AUSA.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, the Russian Defense Ministry has taken a decision regarding the tank troops development: by 2027, there will be about 900 really modern tanks. The Russian armed forces will start receiving T-90M tanks of both new production and mostly upgraded from the existing T-90A tanks in 2020. Alexander Potapov, General Director of the Uralvagonzavod concern, said on Thursday, February 13, 2020: "I think that we will see them [T-90M tanks] soon this year".

The U.S. Army is about to start testing a four-wheeled electric scooter known as the EZRaider at the annual Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiments (AEWE) taking place in Fort Benning, Georgia. AWE is used to conduct war games and mock battles designed to give soldiers the opportunity to test out new and experimental equipment.

On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Soldiers participated in the largest amphibious landing ever conducted. By the end of the battle, allied troop casualties stood at over 200,000. Marines fighting in the Pacific took this as a learning opportunity and adapted a better manual for amphibious fighting. Lance Cpl. Brian Bolin Jr., 2nd Marine Division, reports.

According to a statement released on the U.S. Department of Defense on February 14, 2020, the American Company Oshkosh Defense LLC was awarded a $407,335,834 modification (P00291) to contract W56HZV-15-C-0095 to procure Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) and associated kits. For this contract, Oshkosh Defense will deliver JLTVs to U.S. Marine, Lithuania and Slovenia.

More than 500 U.S. soldiers and dozens of tanks and heavy fighting vehicles are deployed to Lithuania to bulk up NATO’s eastern flank. US Army armored cavalry troops exercised in Lithuania after training alongside NATO Allies for several months.
