According to Tasnim, two missiles of Qadr and Fajr-5 types were put on display during the rallies in Tehran on February 11 rallyes, while celebrating the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. The army also displayed the latest version of its short-range, anti-armor missiles, namely Toufan 2-M during the rallies.

The Qadr is a 2,000km-range, liquid-fuel and ballistic missile which can reach territories as far as Israel, an enemy more particularly mentioned since an Israeli F-16 was shot down after a reprisal raid ensuing the destruction of an Iranian drone had overflown the Israeli territory, having taken off from a base in Syria. The Qadr can carry different types of ‘Blast’ and ‘MRV’ (Multiple Reentry Vehicle) payloads to destroy a wide range of targets. The new version of Qadr H can be launched from mobile platforms or silos in different positions and can escape missile defense shields due to their radar-evading capability.

The Fajr-5 Multiple-Launch Rocket System is another home-made weapon produced by Iran designed for use against short-range targets. The previous version of the Fajr 5 was developed by Iran in 1990s. Iran’s Defense Ministry unveiled five new military products on Monday, February 6, 2017 including the new Fajr 5 MLRS.It’s already an old weapon. In 2012, Iran had delivered many ones to the Palestian resistance.
