Soldiers of Russian peacekeeping brigade has received Ratnik Future Soldier System.
All servicemen of Russia’s sole peacekeeping brigade have received Ratnik combat outfits, Commander of the Russian Central Military District’s 2nd Guards All-Arms Army Major-General Igor Seritsky said on Thursday, February 18, 2016. The peacekeeping brigade consists of more than 2,000 servicemen.

"Servicemen of the peacekeeping brigade have been fully equipped with new Ratnik combat outfits in February," the commander said.

The Ratnik combat gear includes winter and summer two-sided camouflages that allow accomplishing various tasks in mountainous terrain at temperatures between -25°C and +45°C.

The outfit’s ammunition comprises about 40 protection and life support elements, including body armor vests and helmets, waterproof overalls and ear, eye, elbow and knee joint protection systems.

The Ratnik combat outfit also features an autonomous heat source, a personal water filter, first-aid and respiratory protection gear.

The first peacekeeping brigade in Russia was set up in the Samara Region in the Volga area in 2005. The brigade is designed to accomplish peacekeeping missions in CIS states. It can also operate beyond them under a UN mandate.

The brigade accomplished peacekeeping missions in Transdniestria, Abkhazia and North Ossetia and took part in international exercises, such as Peace Mission, Indestructible Brotherhood, etc.
