| Azerbaijan to purchase T-90S main battle tank from Russia. |
Azerbaijan will purchase T-90S tanks from Russia, military sources told APA (Azerbaijan Press agency). In 2011, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and Russia’s Rosoboroneksport Company signed a deal on sales of T-90S main battle tanks, no details were given on the number and delivery time of the tanks. |

Rosoboroneksport also signed a deal with Turkmenistan on sales of T-90 tanks. The T-90 is being produced by Russia’s Uralvagonzavod Scientific Production Corporation.
The T-90 is a Russian-made third-generation main battle tank that is a modernisation of the T-72. It is currently the most modern tank in service with the Russian armed forces.
The T-90S is the export version of the T-90. The T-90S is in service with the Indian army. In February 2011, the Indian army signed a contract for 310 T-90S tanks.
Algeria signed a contrcat with Russia for the delivery of 180 T-90S tanks.
