ExpoDefensa 2019: Jankel Fox and Hunter 4x4 tactical vehicles tailored for Latin America market


Jankel Company from the United Kingdom presents FOX and Hunter 4x4 tactical vehicles tailored for Latin America military and security forces. At ExpoDefensa 2019, Jankel showcases its FOX in Long-Range Patrol Vehicle (LRPV) version and the Hunter, a 4x4 light protected vehicle specially designed for security and police forces.

The Fox family is based on the chassis of Toyota light commercial vehicle, with custom improvements and automotive upgrades made by Jankel. It features a modular design, which enables multiple reconfigurations according to the requirements of the customer. FOX is already in service with many countries all over the world.

The FOX LRPV (Long-Range Patrol Vehicle) has been designed for reliability and performance over long-range missions. Using one of the world’s most reliable base platforms, the LRPV is built for maneuverability and supportability, making it ideal for a number of roles including surveillance, reconnaissance, fire support, force protection, convoy support and urban operations.

The FOX LRPV has been engineered to undertake military missions of 10 days or 1,500 km, making it the ideal choice for missions where additional or unanticipated action is required.

The Hunter is a 4×4 protected vehicle designed and manufactured by Jankel to be used as a personnel carrier for security and police forces. It can be configured to perform a wide range of missions such as internal security, counter-terrorism, patrol mission, escort, Special Forces operations, and law enforcement.

The Hunter offers ballistic protection level B6 firing of small arms 7.62х51 (.308) up to 30.06 AP (Armor Piercing) and Penetrator rounds. In option, it can be upgraded up to STANAG 4569 Level 2 or B7 protection. It offers under-body mine protection, which can be upgraded to STANAG 4569 Level 2a.

The Hunter protected vehicle is based on the rugged Toyota land cruiser platform. It can accommodate a total of 8 people with commander and driver at the front and six individual anti-mine blast seats at the rear.

The Hunter has a gross weight of 4,800 kg and a payload capacity of 1,000 kg. It has a length of 5.1 m, a width of 1.8 m and a height of 2.2 m. The vehicle is motorized with a turbo-charged 4.2 l inter-cooled engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. It can run at a maximum road speed of 120 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km.

The roof of the Hunter protected vehicle can be fitted with a one-man open-top turret that can be armed with a machine gun up to 12.7 mm caliber.
