ExpoDefensa is set to become the future and security Hub for all Latin America and Caribbean.
Day 2 for Army Recognition editorial team at ExpoDefensa 2015, the International Exhibition of Defence and Security , today we had the chance to make an interview with one of the special unit of the Colombian Police, named the "GAULA", the anti-kidnapping unit. The event is also an opportunity for the Colombian Defense and Security Industry to showcase latest innovations and technologies.
     
     
Expodefensa 2015 is an international exhibition and point of reference for Latin American countries in terms of technological development and innovation for the Defence and Security Industry (land, air and naval).
 
 

The goal of ExpoDefensa is to become the future defence and security "HUB" for all Latin America and the Caribbean. Today CORFERIAS organizer of fairs in Colombia and COGES organizer of Eurosatory in France pool their effort to accelerate the development of ExpoDefensa, each carrying their knowledge.

The National Army, convinced the importance of including science, technology and innovation in the Force's mission and operational processes, has led and managed the development of the scientific skills in its officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers through training.

ExpoDefensa 2015 provides an opportunity to learn more about the development within the Force in the field of communications, research on tropical diseases, advances in aircraft maintenance, logistic development and demining effort to mitigate and neutralize the harmful action of improvised devices.

At Expodefensa 2015, the National Police showcases its visitors some of the most recent technological advances led by the Institution's researchers and developers, in the fields of electronics, micro-electronics, ICTs, robotics, armament, reduced lethality devices and ballistic protection aspects, among other things.
Colombia has now become a security exporter and a strategic ally in the cooperation required to meet the challenges of regional and global security.

As part of this, the Ministry of Defence is now leading one of the largest business groups in the country, with a conglomerate of 19 entities, whose purpose is to contribute in an effective, measurable way to consolidating security and peace in Colombia, through the timely provision of goods and services in support of national security and defence. The GSED (Social and Business Group for the Defence Sector) is led by the Deputy Minister of Defence for the GSED and welfare, which is responsible for strategically managing and controlling all entities to ensure that it fulfils their assigned role.
