The new Rila 8x8 armored vehicle in IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) configuration represents a new generation of combat vehicles combining high levels of mobility, protection, and firepower.

The IAG Rila 8x8 IFV design consists of three main parts, with the driver positioned on the front left side of the hull with the powerpack on its right, a turret is mounted in the middle of the roof, and the troop's compartment at the rear. The vehicle has a combat weight of 36 tons and the hull provides ballistic and mine protection up to Level 4A/4B STANAG 4569. The rear part of the hull can accommodate up to nine infantrymen.

At Eurosatory 2022, the Rila 8x8 IFV is fitted with a Guardian 30 RWS (Remote Weapon Station) developed by the Spanish company Escribano. It can run at a maximum road speed of 105 km/h with a maximum cruising range of up to 720 km at a speed of 80 km/h. The vehicle can negotiate a gradient of 60% and side slopes of 30%. It can climb a vertical step of 0.65m and cross a trench of 2 m.
