The LifeSaver is a patent pending protection system which consists of two special plates, fixed in place with shoulder and stomach straps to protect the upper body. The plates are coated to prevent secondary fragments. Weighing a total of 6.3 kilograms, the LifeSaver protective system conforms to VPAM-6 standard. It reliably stops bullets fired from all known pistols and rifles in calibres up to and including 7.62mm x 39 mild steel core, the standard ammunition of the AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Affordable and easy to use, it is suitable for use not only by police forces and internal security forces, but also for private citizens to keep with their home defense equipment in case of a home invasion, to put one plate in a backpack for everyday protection, or to keep in a locker at work or school. Moreover, because it is quick and easy to put on in an emergency, the LifeSaver can make a vital difference when people have to be evacuated from a danger zone.

Rheinmetall displayed the LifeSaver for the first time at the SHOT Show 2018. Among others, court house and airport personnel, the National Rifle Association and schools have all shown great interest in the product. The LifeSaver is already for sale in the United States. Additional sales territories will be added soon.
