Streit Group Scorpion 4x4 MRAP Mine Resistant Ambush Protection vehicle in live demonstration.
Streit Group's Scorpion Armored Personnel Carrier is a Mine Resistant Ambush Protection (MRAP) vehicle which has been designed to offer a new tactical vehicle for tactical response team and Special Forces Units. At Eurosatory 2016, the Streit Group Scorpion performs a live demonstration showing the capacities of the vehicle to cross any types of terrain with high level of mobility.

The Scorpion 4x4 APC features a monocoque-type armoured design for the crew compartment that reduces weight of the vehicle compared to other armoured vehicles which armour has been attached to an underlying frame. The advanced design of the Scorpion APC also includes a high ground clearance and acute turning circle, allows for a superior off-road capability.

The Scorpion 4x4 MRAP vehicle offers an high level of protection for the crew thanks to the use of composite armour add on plates. The armour of the vehicle offers a protection Level 3 STANAG 4569 in standard configuration. The ballistic protection is able to stop firing of small arms 7.62×51mm AP caliber (WC core) at 30 meters with 930 m/s. The armour enables the Scorpion to withstand the blast of a anti-tank mine (8 kg of TNT) at any point beneath the hull, and under any wheel. In option, the ballistic protection of the Scorpion can be upgraded to Level 4 STANAG 4569.

The engine bay and fuel tank are also armoured to protect against mobility features in the event of an attack.

The vehicle interior can be fully customized to specific requirements which includes anti-blast mine seats, benches and individual bucket seats which protect personnel from under body explosion blasts and offers high level of comfort during high speed and off-road maneuvers.

The Scorpion can be configured with 5 or 8 seats with enclosed payload bin at the rear. The vehicle has a total curb weight of 11,000 kg with a payload capacity of 2,000 kg.

The top of the hull can be fitted with Remote Weapon System or a manual turret which can be armed with a machine gun up to 12.7mm caliber.

The Scorpion is motorized with a 6 cylinder 6.7 L engine developing 300 hp at 2,500 rpm. It can run at a maximum speed of 105 km/h with a maximum road range of 1,300 km.
