The Protecop demining suit has been designed considering the requirements of some of the major demining organisations and companies. The inside of the body equipment is especially designed for protection against fragments of exploding mines, bombs and artillery shells.

A demining suit is an individual lightweight protective equipment, all enveloping from head to foot, which is easy to wear but allows the wearer far greater comfort and ease of movement.

The jacket provides front, back and side, shoulder and neck protection with armour plate pockets. The whole equipment includes also an helmet with visor to provide protection to head and neck areas.

The Protecop Demining Suit has been designed specifically for personnel involved in searching for and clearing of mines and terrorist explosive devices. The Demining Suit is but is very light in weight, provides all-round 360° protection, whilst at the same time being comfortable to wear and allowing virtually unrestricted movement.

The demining suit is usually worn by trained personnel attempting bomb disposal. In contrast to ballistic body armors, which usually focus on protecting the torso and head, a bomb suit must protect all parts of the body, since the dangers posed by a bomb's explosion affect the entire body.

Parts of the bomb suit overlap for maximum protection. The suit protects in several different ways. It deflects or stops projectiles that may come from an exploded device. It also stops or greatly decreases the pressure of the blast wave being transmitted to the person inside of the suit. Most bomb suits, such as the Advanced Bomb Suit use layers of Kevlar, foam, and plastic to accomplish these functions.
