The most famous amongst them are the unique models of underwater and silent small arms, weapons for anti-terrorist units as well as artillery weapons for the Russian Airborne Forces. “TSNIITOCHMASH” is a leading enterprise in the field of soldier equipment design and development.

In Russia the combat equipment for the individual war fighter is based on the modularity, which allows equipping different military units depending on their missions.

The Russian personal combat equipment for the individual war fighter is developed as an integral global system of five essential systems: weapons, protection, command and control, survival and power supply. The different components of these systems are interconnected by both functions and design. The weapon system includes all man portable weapons with needed sighting devises.

The protection system is a set of individual protection equipment against all munitions and includes alert warning devices.

Command and control system provides a unit commander with an effective control of and communication with individual soldiers as well as with higher leaders. It includes communication means, reconnaissance means, target acquisition and identification means, means of data processing and display, positioning and navigation means.

Survival system includes components needed by a soldier both in peacetime and combat. It includes personal combat gear, engineering aids, clothing, rations, medical aid kit and personal functional state monitoring aids.

Power supply system is aimed to assure uninterruptable and sound operation of the above mentioned systems. It includes various charging devices and electric power sources, electric power transforming and transmitting means, and means for performance monitoring of power supply system elements.
