Its outstanding protection level and advanced technology equipment allow VEGA to be used for a full range of combat missions under any climatic conditions around the globe.

Unlike many other MRAP vehicles with an armoured hull shell placed on a commercial chassis with rigid axles, the VEGA 6x6 opted for a different path. It uses a combination of a simple backbone frame - a TATRA chassis featuring a central load-carrying tube and swing half-axles with independent wheel suspension, which has seen years of continuous operations in the roughest terrain and toughest climatic conditions imaginable.

The VEGA also features a very high crew protection level. It makes use of a "monocoque structure" with integrated V-shaped hull bottom combined with a special multi-layered sandwich-type floor.

From the seemingly endless deserts of Kuwait and Iraq to the narrow valleys of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the steep mountains of Afghanistan to the rolling hills and forests of Central Europe -TATRA chassis have excelled. The air suspension system not only maintains a constant height of the vehicle regardless of the load, but also enables the VEGA to adjust the clearance and/or approach and departure angles (32° and 44° respectively).

In addition to its excellent off-road mobility (increased even further by the use of powerful engine developing 300 kW at 1800 rpm and a 14-speed electronically controlled semi-automatic transmission). The VEGA 6x6 can run at a maximum road speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 750 km.

The new VEGA 6x6 can carry up to 13 troops including one driver, one commander and 11 soldiers. The vehicle can be fitted with a Remote Controlled Weapon Station which can be armed with an heavy machine gun or a cannon up to 30mm caliber.
