At Eurosatory 2012, the Israeli Company Rafael unveils the MINI Spike, a man portable, multi-purpose miniature electro-optical missile weapon system. MINI SPIKE is the smallest and most light member of the SPIKE FAMILY. The Missile Weapon System includes an advanced miniature control launch unit (MICLU) and a miniaturized state of the art Elect optical precision attack wireless guided missile.

MINI SPIKE can be operated with its integral launching unit (MICLU) or with existing SPIKE Family Launchers utilizing the CLU, tripod and launcher assemblies via an electro mechanical adaptor.

Today's infantry warfare is based on 3 main elements: Fire, Maneuver and Intelligence. The MINI SPIKE Missile Weapon System grants to the infantry platoon or company an organic precision attack weapon system for ranges up to 1500 meters (typical enemy close encounter engagement range).

This ability enables continuity of the infantry ground maneuver with affectively decreasing the need for direct or indirect fire support. The lightweight miniaturized MINI SPIKE round (4 kg) and light weight launcher (4kg) enables carrying a substantial amount of rounds while deployed on foot and allows a dramatic decrease of the overall weight carried by the infantry unit.
