CILAS SLD-500

Based on CILAS laser and optronic expertise, the SLD 500 combines the latest high-definition daylight camera, infrared camera for night vision, and laser technology. It can detect and locate any optical sight system before shooting: optical scopes used by snipers or optronic sight systems used by enemy’ surveillance or recon.

It also can perform threat identification. Automatically scanning its panoramic environment, its remote broadcast unit allows 24-hour recording of the MMI. It can be coupled to a variety of external sensors, such as acoustic detectors, thermal camera, ground radars… CILAS has delivered several systems to NATO forces and Middle-East countries.

On its stand CILAS is also introducing its SLD-Scout counter sniper goggles. In 2012, CILAS is going to release the SLD-Scout, a portable version of the SLD 500 (less than 2 Kg smart goggles).

Combining goggles, and SLD 500 laser technology, the SLD-Scout has been developed for surveillance and security of soldiers in the bottom of a valley or in urban warfare. This new detection system meets platoon, convoy or VIP protection team expectations in different environments such as mountains or urban areas. The SLD-Scout is to be tested within French forces by the end of the year before using it to protect engaged forces in external operations. This development has been achieved thanks to the support of EADS-France and has been done in close collaboration with EADS-IW France.
